Even once is far too many times. There’s a reason why they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it’s the first thing you eat after an entire night of nothing, it’s the fuel your body needs to get you going for the day. Peanut Butter and Banana on Whole Wheat Toast
Total Preparation Time: Approx. 5 minutes
That’s right, 2 slices of whole wheat toast with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a sliced banana is less than 300 calories and it takes hardly any time at all to make!
Whole wheat toast is better for you and contains fewer carbohydrates than regular white bread, peanut butter is a yummy source of protein and the banana helps to make the meal a little more filling while offering the nutritional value of fruit. You could replace the banana with strawberries or some other kind of fruit on top if you don’t like bananas or you just get bored with it. This breakfast would be great before a workout or even if you’re just heading out to work since it has plenty of fuel to get you through your workout without being too heavy and the protein can hold you over until your snack or lunch break.
“Plain” Bagel With “Light” Cream Cheese
Total Preparation Time: 2-5 minutes (Depending on if you toast the bagel)
Sure, you can go through the drive through and order this one, but you can save time and money if you make it at home. Plus, you control the portion. With this recipe you get a whole bagel with an ounce of light cream cheese; if you go and get fast food you’re at their discretion of what kind of cream cheese, the size of the bagel, how much cream cheese etc. This is also a great source of protein and it’s also pretty low in fat. Switch it out for whole grain and you could cut down the carbs too.
